To celebrate the international day of French teachers, Durham University’s School of Modern Languages and Centre for Foreign Language Study are delighted to launch their first creative writing contest in French on the theme of “Le monde d’après”. The contest is open to specialist and non-specialist learners of French who are studying in a UK or Irish university. The contest is open to students at the following levels of the CEFR: elementary (A2), intermediate (B1-B2) and advanced (C1-C2). Students are invited to submit a text in the genre of their choice (prose, drama, poetry, song, etc) by February 25th 2022. Prizes will be awarded for each CEFR level in June 2022 in Durham. For more information (word length, criteria, format, contact details, etc), please see the poster below or visit the competition website.

The competition follows a series of creative writing masterclasses offered to undergraduates in French as well as French teachers in UK universities. Two of these masterclasses were supported by the UCML Small Grants Fund.
