We are delighted to announce that the following applications were successful in the third round of the UCML Small Grants Fund. We recognise that given the current public health crisis the organisation of these events may have to be rethought, but we will continue to support them should they be postponed or redesigned.

We received 4 applications and we made awards to 2 projects, equating to £1300:

Guido Bartolini (Royal Holloway University)

Project: To support the interdisciplinary seminar series ‘Mediated Memories of Responsibility’ to be held between November 2020 and May 2021.

Anna Johnston (Durham University)

Project: To support the student-oriented conference ‘Translation: above and beyond wor(l)ds’, focusing on the importance of languages in modern society and encouraging students to rethink the distinction between ‘language’ and ‘cultural’ modules.

We wish all successful applicants every success with their projects and will be posting project reports in due course.
